Already going to Japan but need some assistance? We’ve got you covered! Our resident guide program allows for you to rent-a-guide to serve your every need and whim (well, almost – please don’t abuse them!). We have bilingual guides based in Japan who specialize in their particular area and Japanese pop culture. So, if you’re looking for some help to get you to that one store that requires 5 train transfers – done. If you want to navigate to that mountain that you saw in your favorite anime – done. If you don’t want to get lost in Japan – done. If you want to just hang out with a cool person while you explore Japan – done.

Here are just a few of the things a resident guide can offer:

-Instructions on how to use the train and to get from place to place
-Translation and cultural explanation to break the language barrier
-Itinerary guidance so you can spend your vacation time efficiently

Guides are available at the following rates:

Savings based on the rate of $20/hr per person.
*If you plan a custom tour of 10 people or more and will be purchasing airfare with us, we can include a guide to stay with you for the duration of your tour!  Subject to change on a case to case basis.

Unfortunately we do not allow our guides to surpass more than 5 hrs a day at this time. We can separate the time with them though so that they can guide participants to an area, set a meeting location, and then pick them up after a given time. Only the times where the guide is with the client are officially counted into the guide’s time.

How do I get a guide? It’s easy! Just email us at go@popjapantravel or fill out our contact form with “Resident Guide” as the subject. Then let us know your plans and what days you’ll need a guide! We’ll email you back to further discuss how we can assist your trip to Japan.
