My personal favorite Japanese clothing/toy brand, Original Fake, has updated their website with a new picture featuring an all black 4 foot tall Companion doll. Featuring artist Kaws’s trademark X eyes in a striking yellow with an all-black body, this “toy” is guaranteed to be a conversation starter at your next cocktail party. Expect this to be priced around $3000, same as last season’s grey and white 4 ft. Companion. This one’s going straight to the top of my Christmas list! Thanks Santa!

In more Japanese collectible news, Toy Beast recently broke the news that another huge Medicom collaboration is in the works. Featuring electro-dance gods Daft Punk, this project sees the same decoration as the 100% Be@rbricks released with “Daft Punk Alive 2007″ at the end of last year and upgrades them to a 400% release. Going on sale in March of 2009 (just in time for Pop Japan Travel’s Cosplay Tour!), this two-pack will be priced at a fairly reasonable 10,290 yen (about $100).
