SAMURAI AND SNOW, DEMONS AND DANCING, FRILLS AND FUJOSHI
POP JAPAN TRAVEL ANNOUNCES SPRING 2008 TOUR SCHEDULE

——-

After a brief hiatus, Pop Japan Travel, the original and premiere tour operator for Japanophiles of all shades and shapes, has returned with three dynamite tours for the beginning of 2008: the Cold Steel Tour in January, and in April, the Fujoshi Paradise Tour for the growing legions of American yaoi and boys’ love fans, and the Tokyo Darkside Tour for fans of the fascinating world of gothic-lolita fashion.

Departing Monday, January 28 and returning Wednesday, February 6, Our first tour of 2008 is liable to knock your tabi off, with four full days in the modern megalopolis of Tokyo, a full-day tour of the samurai capital of Kamakura, and two days in Sapporo, Hokkaido for the opening of the Sapporo Snow Festival, the world’s most famous ice and snow sculpture carnival.

You’ll have the chance to see a real anime studio, eat the freshest sushi you’ve ever tasted, visit a cosplay cafe in the otaku mecca of Akihabara, and much, much more!

Cross-dressing hip-hop dancers, bean exorcisms, plastic food, giant buddhas, swords galore: We’ve pulled out all the stops to make the first trip on the new Pop Japan Travel one to remember!

Leaving April 11 and returning April 18, the Fujoshi Paradise Tour, named for the “dirty girl” moniker that Japanese yaoi fans apply to themselves, is quite simply heaven on Earth for the bishonen fan. Shop in the yaoi paradise of Otome Road, with multi-story doujinshi stores soaring to the sky, then sit down at not one but two yaoi cafes. But that’s not all! You’ll also have some private time with one of Digital Manga Publishing’s most famous yaoi artists, and a late-night bishonen dance show guaranteed to make you go ga-ga — some of them may be playing women, but all the dancers are men!

Also traveling from April 11-18: the Tokyo Darkside Tour, America’s first gothic-lolita themed tour of Japan. Tired of high mark-ups for your goth-loli goods — if you can even find them at all? Then shop for yourself in the goth-loli Mecca of Shinjuku. Pop Japan Travel takes you to all the brand-name boutiques: Baby, The Stars Shine Bright, Moi-meme-Moitie, Victorian Maiden, Angelic Pretty, h.NAOTO and more! Show off your own unique look in Harajuku, and Pop Japan Travel takes you to the Christon Cafe, a Tokyo restaurant built in a classical European style and a local goth-loli hangout! There’s also a PJT-exclusive activity planned — we’ve got to keep it under wraps for now, but check back soon!

Both these tours include a look at Tokyo old and new; dining in hangouts both delicious and bizarre; shopping in Akihabara, Nakano, Shibuya and more; and live shows — plus an optional tour that YOU can help choose!

Prices for these tours will be posted soon. But why wait? Voice your interest now at www.popjapantravel.com!
