Electric Summer Tour 2010 (September 15-21)


End your summer with a bang! By popular demand we bring you a tour for both video game enthusiasts and music fans! We'll spend time in Neo-Tokyo visiting some the major districts such as Asakusa, Akihabara, Harajuku, and Shinjuku where we'll make stops at popular anime, music, and video game locations. Midway we'll do a split of the group, and the Video Game fans will go to the Tokyo Game Show (Japan's gaming convention similar to E3 in the US), and the Music fans will go to Shinjuku Loft to watch a concert! Want to do both? No problem! We'll let you have the full experience, complete with an extension to Kansai for a more traditional side of Japan.

  • Depart LA for Tokyo - 09/15/2010 [-]

    We depart the urban sprawl of LA on a flight to Tokyo!

  • Arrive in Japan + Night-life Tokyo - 09/16/2010 [-]

    After changing our money into yen, we'll take a bus to our hotel and get checked in. If the jet lag isn't getting to you, join us for a trip up scenic Tokyo Tower to catch a glimpse of the city around you. Click on the option link below for details!

  • Take a look back, then take a leap forward - 09/17/2010 [-]

    We'll take a look at the more historical side of Tokyo when we visit Asakusa! Walk down a bustling street of vendors as we make our way to a temple at the end. Feel free to browse shops for interesting souvenirs and delicious snacks! After we've had our fill we'll be off to Akihabara, also known as electric town, where you can shop to your hearts content for all the latest Japanese video game and music merchandise.

  • Ready... Break! - 09/18/2010 [-]

    Today Music fans are off till 1PM while Video game fans will be going to Tokyo Game Show! 

    Then the gamers will have the evening off while the Music fans attend a concert at Shinjuku Loft, a popular venue for indie bands!
    Those who would like to attend both Tokyo Game Show and Shinjuku Loft can do so at an additional cost!

  • Tokyo Explorers - 09/19/2010 [-]

    Next stop, Harajuku - a youthful district where you'll find lolita, visual kei, and cosplayers walking the streets. Spend some time exploring unique stores such as Daiso (Japan's version of a 99 cent store), Kiddyland (an interesting, 6-story toy store), and Laforet (a shopping center filled with all the latest Japanese brands). Later that day we'll go to Roppongi where we'll catch the Akasaka Hikawa Dashi Parade, a Japanese parade of floats. And at night, we'll head to Odaiba where you'll have the option of relaxing in a hot spring or visiting Joypolis (a video game amusement park). 

  • Tokyo Round 3 - 09/20/2010 [-]

    For our last day in Tokyo we'll be going to Shinjuku & Shibuya for more sightseeing and shopping. We'll make a special stop at the Square Enix store in Shinjuku where you can see Sephiroth sleeping beneath a glass window!

    Later that day you'll have the option of visiting the Ghibli Museum!

    Last but not least, we'll have a farewell dinner so we can all talk about the good times we had during the tour. ^_^

  • Kansai Extension - 09/21/2010 [-]

    Say good-bye to Tokyo as we bullet train out to Kyoto. We'll make a stop at the hotel to drop off luggage, then its off to Kinkakuji, the famous gold-leaf temple. Later we'll make a stop at Nijo Castle and you'll have the option to visit the Manga Museum!

    Spend the day in Osaka - visit Osaka-jo and eat delicious Kansai food!

  • Kyoto - 09/23/2010 [-]

    We'll be taking the scenic route as we visit temples Kiyomizu, Nanzenji, and Ginkakuji. Feel like reliving Japanese history? Join the option to get dressed up as a Maiko (a geisha in training), or a Samurai!

  • Time to head home - 09/24/2010 [-]

    Transfer to the airport, return home, and tell your friends how much fun you had!
